August 31, 2021—nami wayne and holmes counties and the city of wooster police department recently received international attention.
A group of law enforcement men and women dedicated to serving the citizens of the city of wooster.
Today we recognize patrolman chris hartzler for being awarded the wayne county children services 2020 law enforcement officer of the year.

Chris received his award at the 27th annual wayne county child abuse prevention month community event that took place on april 27th, 2021.
Known as cit for short, it’s designed to help officers handle encounters with people who are suffering from mental illness.
Webaccepting awards for their extraordinary work to prevent child abuse were detective juan mccloud of the wooster police department for the 2021 law enforcement officer of the year and executive director of the mental health and recovery board judy wortham wood, for the 2021 child advocate of the year.
Patrolman hartzler has been with our department since february of 2017 and we’re all very proud of his accomplishments thus far.
Patrolman jerome fatzinger, was nominated and chosen as the international cit law enforcement officer of the year.
